FAQ

How long will it take for my child to sleep well?

I like to support parents for 2-3 weeks, depending on your child’s
age, to create consistent positive change to sleeping habits day
and night. We can expect overnight sleep to change in the first
3-4 days when the sleep plan is followed consistently. Keep in
mind the time it takes for your child to go to bed peacefully will
correlate directly to their age, temperment, and how many sleep
props are involved in bringng. Daytime sleep can take longer
than a few days to become predictable. Naps can be more
challenging to lengthen and regulate, so I like to support
parents for longer to be certain we see some change to daytime
sleep at teh cons

Why use a sleep consultant?

Families hire sleep consultants when their sleep situation IS
NOT working for them. They’re tired, no one is getting enough
sleep at night, and they feel the need to make some changes.
Together, we have tailored a personalized, step-by-step plan
specifically based on the baby’s needs, and it has an extremely
high chance of success if it’s followed consistently over the
two-week plan.
As your confidant in sleep, I will be readily available to answer all
your questions and concerns in real time, help you edit our plan

based on how your child responds, hold you accountable to
reaching your goals, and equip you to tackle future sleep
transitions.

How much crying should I expect?

The amount of crying you hear from your child will vary based
on many factors, including but not limited to: your child’s
temperament, sleep debt (how tired they are entering the
training), age, consistency of response from parents,
consistency of sleep environment and routines, and the amount
of sleep props previously included in your child’s routine. The
good news is that the crying will diminish in intensity and
duration with consistent sleep scheduling and responsiveness.
We will keep data on your child’s protesting to assure that this is
the case, and we will make changes as necessary depending on
the trends in protest we do see arise.

Will this process harm my child?

No! I am confident that sleep training will increase your family’s
overall health. According to an article from the Cleveland clinic,
“There has been ample long-term research studying sleep
training, and there is no evidence that sleep training is
physically or psychologically damaging to babies and children.
In fact, it’s been known to improve parental mood, improves an

infant’s sleep quality and increases the secure attachment
between babies and their caregivers. As long as your baby is old
enough and is in a safe environment, sleep training (no matter
which method you choose) is perfectly safe and healthy.”

What if this sleep training doesn’t work for my child?

Almost all kids benefit from routine, predictability, and great
sleep. I have not had a case yet where sleep does not improve! I
am a problem solver, and want you to be a satisfied, sleeping
parent at the end of our work together. I am committed to
helping you achieve your goals!
